A Whole Month Has Gone By......

It has been an entire month since I posted on my little blog.  I blame it on the sunshine.  During the winter when the sky is cloudy and it is cold outside I tend to stay in the house which equals spending more time on my computer.  Now that it is spring/summer I try to get out of the house as much as possible.  That activity has been halted by the extreme heat and humidity we are experiencing.  We are on day 14 (I think, but my brain is fried) of over 90 degree heat combined with insufferable humidity.  Today is will be 97 with a heat index in the triple digits.  After watching the weather report this morning, it appears there is no relief in sight. 

How is the weather where you are?  If you are in one of those places where the storms are spawning tornado's I am keeping good thoughts for you.  If you are somewhere in the sun and 70-80 degree heat, well I will just think you are bragging...lol.

The "I Need To Catch Up Post"

It has been several weeks since I actually posted on my little blog.  No excuse, just been busy with life and training for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure 60 mile walk.  So here are a few of the things that I have been doing. 

Gem Mining with 'the guy' in the mountains of North Carolina.  I found lots of beautiful stones including one emerald.  It was great fun, and my back hurt for two days afterward, but so worth it.  

Attending lots of girls softball games to watch my 11 year old granddaughter play ball.  Those girls have improved so much this past year and the games are really exciting.  

Gave myself a 'much needed pedicure'.  I am making a resolution to do this at least every other week the rest of the summer.  

Trimmed all the trees in my yard.  This is only part of the branches, when I took this picture I had already hauled two loads to the dump.  My trees look great and I was very tired.  

I also made many signs for the garage sale we had to raise money for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.  Lots of people donated items for us to sell and we raised $100 in just 3 hours of sales.  We will do this again in a few weeks with the items that are still being donated.  

I have been spending week-ends working my booth at the Flea Market.  Last Saturday I so enjoyed watching these two little guys reading books while their mother shopped.  They were so cute and so well behaved. 

Well that is enough for tonight.  I have more to post, so stay tuned for Part II of why I have been so busy.  I know you will be waiting, my life is so interesting.....ROFL.

Well not totally wordless, since I have not posted in over 2 weeks, I thought a picture of my youngest grand would be a great way to start again.  He is playing in a tunnel at the Castle Park. 

A Few of my Favorite Things

I have not had much to blog about recently, so yesterday I was sitting in my rocking chair looking around the room and thinking about a few of my favorite things.  So I thought I would share them with you.

I love my African Violets when they bloom.

9 Months Old

My littlest grandson is now 9 months old and his mother posted some pictures for me to pirate and put on my blog (thank you dear daughter). 

He has his own cupboard filled with pot lids (his favorite toys)

This is his newest face, it makes his parents laugh, he loves that!  

Taking a walk with Dad in the backyard.  Finally warm enough to wear summer clothes. 

He is getting so big and his parents report that he loves to walk, of course they are in for lots of exercise when he learns to walk without holding on to their hands.  I miss you little one, but will see you for your 1 year birthday in July. 

The Way I Spend My Weekends

 I have been working my booth at the local Flea Market for almost six months.  It is fun to be out of the house and around people during those two days a week.  A few of my online peeps were wondering what the Flea Market looked like.  They wanted to know if it was dark and full of junk.  So I took a few pictures last week-end to show you where I spend my week-ends. 

This is my booth at the Flea Market.  The table in the front of the picture is all my information about the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure (I will be walking 60 miles over 3 days).  I have merchandise that I sell (pink ribbon magnets for the car, pink ribbon key chains, pink ribbon ink pens, etc.).  I also was given some Dinner for Two Gift Certificates that I use for Raffle Tickets (cost $1.00).  This week the gift certificate was from Texas Roadhouse.  Everyone wants to buy a ticket for the chance to win a free dinner and donate at the same time. 

This is Sandra's booth.  She is next to me on the left.  She is a very nice lady and I enjoy talking to her.

This is the booth that sells new socks.  He sells lots of socks, they are very cheap compared to stores.

This is the picture guy's booth.  He sells frames, picture and prints.  Lots of nice stuff.  

This is the Popcorn Machine, the smell always makes me hungry.  

There are 6 or 7 more booths, but I don't want to bore you with pictures of all of them.  We have a section where we put baby furniture, there is a military surplus booth, a booth that sells baseball caps, new bras (yeah, that was a surprise to me, who comes to the flea market to buy a bra?), and baby clothes.  It is a real mixture of what I call 'stuff'.
