What to do with the Toyota Recall

Do you own a Toyota, if so, is it one of the vehicles that they have on the halted production in the U.S. list?
Well, I own one, and I am not a happy consumer.  I spent several months in early 2009 researching what my next vehicle would be.  When all was said and done, Toyota came to the top  of the list because of their safety record, resale value, and standing behind their service.  So I happily went to the local Toyota Dealership a couple of times and test drove a couple different models.  Finally in May I made my decision and purchased my new vehicle.  Don't get me wrong, I love my vehicle, but now I am afraid to drive it!

I spent this morning on the phone with Toyota, and I found out that they still do not know exactly what they are going to do to fix the accelerator problems, and when they will even start those repairs.  So I have a big old decoration sitting in my yard that gives me anxiety every time I think about driving it.  I have read all the advice they have given about what to do if the accelerator sticks, and I have told anyone that might for any reason drive my vehicle, but I am still not convinced it is safe.

This is my 'Black Beauty'

I am hoping for a speedy outcome to the problems with Toyota vehicles, but I am not holding my breath.  Meanwhile I am driving like a 'little old lady', oh wait, I am a 'little old lady', but I hate driving like one!

4. How tall are you?
5. What was the last book you read?
6. Flats or heels?
7. If you had to choose one natural disaser to go through, what would you choose..Earthquake, Tornado, or Hurricane?
8. Thong, panties, or (gasp) granny panties?

1. If you were stranded on a desert island and could pick one person to be stranded with you..Who would you pick? Family members not included.
that would have to be my friend Dave, he spent years backpacking in the desert and has all those survival skills.

2. Do you read celebrity gossip?
I do read it occasionally, but I used to read it more than I read the regular news.  I no longer subscribe to any of the celebrity magazines.

3. Favorite show you're waching this season?
I like watching the Biggest Loser, but I also watched the season opener of the Bachelor.  I have to say I like Brothers and Sisters too!   Sidenote: not sure why my font changed, to lazy this morning to figure it out.
4. How tall are you?
5 ft 6in  - - now that font changed back!

5. What was the last book you read?
Point of Origin by Patricia Cornwell

6. Flats or heels?
Now it is flats, when I was younger I preferred heels

7. If you had to choose one natural disaser to go through, what would you choose..Earthquake, Tornado, or Hurricane?
Hands down a hurricane.  I have been through 3 and with all the warning you can relocate and/or prepare.  I have experienced several earthquakes (when living in California) and I have to say they scare me more than any other natural disaster.

8. Thong, panties, or (gasp) granny panties?
panties, the mid-rise style.

Now it is your turn.

What I Do When I Am Sick!!!

It started earlier this week with a headache that lasted for three days, then on Wednesday afternoon I started sneezing, and it went on for several hours, then I woke up on Thursday with what I refer to as the 'winter crud'.  It does not appear to be a full fledged cold, but my head feels like a balloon.  So what I do when I am sick is to make food that sounds like something I want to eat.

So I made a crockpot full of barley and vegetable soup.  I has been cooking all day and smells really good.

So then I got to thinking that after I eat a big bowl of soup, I might be interested in something for dessert.  So I baked these.

Yummy Apple Turnovers (without any sugar)

I plan to fully enjoy my dinner tonight.  I am hoping that I will start feeling better soon, I have to much to do to be sick for a week or two.

Updating my Blog Template

I am working on updating my blog template.  I have only been blogging for about 4 months, so bear with me, I have no idea what I am doing.  I will keep working on it until I get it the way I want it (for now).

A Sweet Lemonade Award

I just got a very Sweet Award from Drea at PBJ Days.  Thank you for thinking of me.  I love getting awards, and this is my second one since I started blogging back in September 09.  I love blogging and it helps to keep me inspired when I get recognition, so thank you again Drea.

With this award, you must thank your giver, link to their blog, list five things about yourself and then pass it on to five more people.

1.  I eat organic foods (almost exclusive, unless I am eating at someone's house, then I am polite and eat   what is served).

2. I do not eat any sugar (have to avoid dessert while eating out) or white flour (I avoid most white foods).

3. I would love to learn photography, but first I need to get a new camera.

4. I drive a truck, have been a lover of trucks since I was a teenager.

5. I grew up on a farm and I know how to milk a cow!

Now to pass this on to five more bloggers:

Jess at Keep it Together
Missie at Straarup Family
Angel at Emily Makes Three
Sandy at Say What
Mama M at My Little Life

Thank you ladies for writing blogs that are fun and inspiring to read.

Yes I Did Friday

If I had not checked Jeanette's latest blog entry I would have totally not realized that today is Friday, when it so feels like Saturday to me. So it is time for 'Yes I did Friday', here goes:

I did let the dishes stack up for two days because I was to depressed to do them after my guests left on Monday.

I did watch movies when I should have been cleaning and doing the aforementioned dishes.

I did watch soap operas on tv, just to get caught up on what I might have missed in the previous weeks and months.  I did not know some of the characters or the plot line, but it was more fun than washing those darn dishes.

It was a pretty uneventful week.  What did you do.  Blog about it, then hop on over to Jeanette's blog and grab a mclinky so we can all enjoy knowing we were not alone this week.

Happy 2010 to everyone!
